soeben erreichte uns nachfolgende Warnung des Debian-Teams ueber
Sicherheitsprobleme in cgiemail. Wir geben diese Informationen
unveraendert an Sie weiter.

In cgiemail, einem CGI-Programm fuer den Mailversand ueber
HTML-Seiten, existiert ein nicht naeher beschriebener Fehler, der es
einem entfernten Angreifer ueber das Netzwerk erlauben koennte, Mail
an beliebige Adressen abzusetzen. Dies koennte unter Anderem fuer den
Versand von SPAM-Mail ausgenutzt werden.

Betroffen ist cgiemail im Paket Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (woody/Stable)
und sid (Unstable). Der Fehler ist behoben in den Versionen:

	1.6-14woody1.	Stable		(3.0/woody)
        1.6-20		Unstable	(sid)

A vulnerability was discovered in cgiemail, a CGI program used to
email the contentsof an HTML form, whereby it could be used to send
email to arbitrary addresses.  This type of vulnerability is commonly
exploited to send unsolicited commercial email (spam).

For the current stable distribution (woody) this problem has been
fixed in version 1.6-14woody1.

For the unstable distribution (sid), this problem has been fixed in
version 1.6-20.

We recommend that you update your cgiemail package.

Upgrade Instructions

        will fetch the file for you
dpkg -i file.deb
        will install the referenced file.

If you are using the apt-get package manager, use the line for
sources.list as given below:

apt-get update
        will update the internal database
apt-get upgrade
        will install corrected packages

You may use an automated update by adding the resources from the
footer to the proper configuration.
