[MS] Schwachstelle in Windows Media Services - MS04-008

soeben erreichte uns nachfolgende Warnung des Microsoft Product
Security Notification Service ueber Sicherheitsprobleme in Windows
Media Services. Wir geben diese Informationen unveraendert an Sie
weiter.
Beshreibung:
Hinter dem Begriff "Windows Media Services" verbirgt sich ein
Multicast Streaming Server, der Multimediainhalte wie Sound- oder
Videodateien an Clients im Netzwerk verteilen kann. Die Eigenschaft
von Multicast ist, dass der Server die Daten gleichsam ins Netz
"abstrahlt" wo sie dann von den Clients empfangen werden koennen.
CAN-2003-0905
Ein entfernter Angreifer kann den Dienst durch eine Sequenz von
TCP/IP Paketen an den Dienst zum Absturz bringen (Denial of Service
Angriff).
Betroffen sind:
- Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 2
- Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 3
- Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 4
