Title
=====
Trojan activity

Detail
======
Uniras has evidence that yesterday's horrific events are being used
in the social engineering element of email-borne trojan attacks.
Typically the subject line of an email, its content and possibly a
malicious attachment all make reference to the incidents in London.

At this time everybody is interested in keeping abreast of
developments and will naturally be tempted to open emails of this
nature. We urge security officers to take the opportunity to remind
their staff that only reputable news sources should be used for this
purpose and that emails relating to news events should be opened only
if they are from a known and trusted source and are expected.

Uniras requests that any incidents of this nature are reported to the
help desk as they are detected.

NISCC Briefing 08/2005 (http://www.niscc.gov.uk/niscc/docs/ttea.pdf)
contains advice on recent trojan activity against the UK Critical
National Infrastructure and pointers to further generic security
advice.
